Sony, the co-inventor of DDS format, is pleased to announce the introduction of DGDAT72 Sony DAT72 data cartridge. This new platform is capable of storing 36GB (native) on one piece of Sony DAT72 media (80% more capacity than DDS-4). Sony's technological expertise and experience in the DDS formats have made it possible to deliver higher compressed capacities of up to 72GB (2: 1) of data protection per DAT72 data cartridge in the same DDS form factor.
